Runnin Omnisphere in "stand alone"

Post  Mulperi on Fri Nov 21, 2008 12:39 am

http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm

SAVIHost is a little derivate of VSTHost that has been crafted for the sole purpose of automatically loading exactly one VSTi. To do so, savihost.exe has to be copied or renamed to the name of the PlugIn's DLL. If, for example, the PlugIn is called blabla.dll, savihost.exe has to be renamed to blabla.exe. Here, for example, it's PPG Wave 2V.exe:

Nice and quick way to run Omni (or any other VSTi) in stand alone mode
Works great and you can also record your playing and export to wav, load MIDI files etc...
Check it out!

BTW, can Slavihost have more than one instance?
To explain,

I use one instance of Slavihost I renamed Ominsphere.exe. Can I have another Slavihost I rename Vanguard.exe?

I think there will be problems with your audio driver being already in use.
You should try that VST Host made by same dude. There you can open as much vstis as you want and also effects and chain them.

No, you misunderstand. I don't want to open up two instruments. I want, just for conveniance, to open up an Omnisphere.exe, then shut it down, then open up a Vanguard.exe. So, essentially I will be using one instance of Savihost but have multiple .exe files.
I know that you can't run two at the same time. I would use xlutop chainer for that.

Cheers.

Then you need to copy the exe-file. Nothing else...? Just have Omnisphere.exe and vanguard.exe

Thanks for this. Very useful. I've been hoping for a solution to this issue.

I find that running Omnisphere over a Network works best. I run it in Nuendo 4 using FX Teleport. This allows Omnisphere to have it own computer. 2 Cores and plenty of RAM. It plays much better......
