Arp needs a declicker

Post  Torgul on Mon Mar 16, 2009 2:15 am

Hey All,

Found this forum thru a post somewhere and have been lurking. I'd thought I'd jump in a make a post Smile

Seems like the arp needs an attack/release setting. On some sound sources it seems to produce audible clicks. So for these sounds it would be unuable for anything really.

Anyone else run into this behavior?

if you get clicking when using the Arp it could be some sort of CPU overload.
Does it go away when you deactivate certain things like effects or filters?
Whatabout the regular attack/release of the AMP envelopes?
Does the clicking go away when you change those settings?

Its not that as far as I can tell. Running a quad core here and not doing much of anything else. CPU usage is only at about 10%. I even tried upping my latency.

Can you please point us to some patches that show this particular problem?

Thanks Hans,

I will indeed. I had one all ready to go but when i checked the file I had saved over what I had loaded last night (mistakenly). Now that I have a place to post I'll post the ones i find to this thread. Ive run into 2 or three over the last few days so I don't think it will take me too long to stumble on another.

Hey Hans,

Ok found one ... Ive been doing some study on this patch.

09. Eternal Changeling

Way to reproduce ... play chords, change slighty early (a small fraction of a 16th note) so that the arp is retriggered "mid note" u will here clicks from time to time.

What I did was record some of these chord changes (unquantized) . I noticed from the midi note data that I was playing some notes slightly ahead of the beat. ... when i quantized the passage the clicks don't happen.
