Sample import

Post  darren on Sat Apr 04, 2009 10:41 am

I can't believe nobody mentioned this yet. I suppose with a 50GB library (or whatever it is by now) there's already a lot out there, but I'd like to be able to push my own random stuff into omni and muck with it from time-to-time.

Absolutely! Very Happy

For example: A lot of classic synth sounds from the 90s are based on GM samples (eg. pizzicato) and are very hard to recreate in omni without sample import. The big question is how Spectrasonics can implement some kind of multisample import (with keygroups, velocity switching, etc) without having to build a complete sampler into Omni. Which format would that be? Question

The obvious choice would be SFZ since it already is an open system with dedicated editors. Many other plugins supports SFZ so it would be really sweet if one could say load a bass from say DirectWave to apply the effects of Omni on to it.
