using a 2nd keyboard for keyswitches only?

Post  Oceanviewstudio on Sun Jan 31, 2010 8:10 am

I was hoping to be able to use a second keyboard in live mode to perform keyswitches only.

So, now I have hooked up a novation remote25 to do that, and to play a Remote37SL.

The problem i have is, when I do a keynote learn on the R25, this will automatically do the same for the R37. Get my drift? Any ideas how I can use a second board for keyswitches only, so that the first keybaord does not sitch?

Thanks
Georg

MIDI note assignment is not limited to a specific keyboard.
The trick is to use the lowest octave setting on the keyboard that you want to use for keyswitches. That moves the keyswitches out of the normalplayrange of your main keyboard.

Guten abend, good evening Smile

Yup, that's how I did it for starters, but I found this rather imperfect.

Try controlling more than one Omisphere via keyswitches, say Omni 1, Part 1-6 and Omni 2 Part 1-4 The keys that will switch Omni 1 trigger sounds on Omni 2.

Not sure how to tackle this.

Unforuntately I bought into that Automap technology, but it is pretty useless with Spectrasonics instruments so far. I suppose it would be easier to trigger via CC's but this has proven a lot of trouble from the Novation.

Wish I still would have my old Kurzweil PC-88. sniff....

Normally the keyswitches only affect the instance of omni that is currently selected.
if you record keyswitches for omni1 they should not affect omni2

Yes, I have selected both instances of Omnisphere for recording at the same time, this explains it.
